Are You And Your Partner Struggling To Be On The Same Page?
Is a sense of disconnection growing between you and your significant other?
Lately, do you feel more like roommates than partners?
Are you wondering if it’s possible to overcome the tension, avoidance, and conflict that has taken over the dynamic?
If any of this sounds familiar, chances are you’re not very satisfied in your partnership. You may be caught “stuck” in a negative cycle, beginning to question what your future holds together. Especially if issues of substance abuse and infidelity have entered the picture, you’re probably holding onto feelings of pain, anger, and distrust.
Life is too short to be unhappy in your relationship. You owe it to each other—and yourselves—to give your partnership the time and space it needs to heal and recalibrate. As a qualified, experienced psychologist and couples therapist, I can help you do just that.
Like you would go to an orthopedist to heal an injury or a personal trainer to get in shape, couples counseling can repair your relationship by reducing conflict and enhancing intimacy. In the safe space of online therapy, you can achieve a new path forward as a couple—replacing tension, boredom, and drama with a sense of fun, spontaneity, and closeness.
Through counseling, you can transform your relationship into a lasting source of joy, a place where you feel uplifted rather than hindered.

How Can Couples Benefit From Therapy?
We’re socially conditioned to enter relationships with high expectations. We imagine that once we find that special someone, all of our needs will be met for life. From this perspective, it can be scary or even shameful to admit that our relationship is no longer fulfilling and that we are feeling unhappy. After months or years of going through the motions of life together, it can be easy to fall into a sense of boredom—especially when we’re stressed and balancing the demands of work, childcare, and other obligations.
We live in a high-performing competitive community, and at the end of the day, many of the couples I work with feel like they don’t have time for one another. Instead of making intentional, dedicated space in their busy schedules for the relationship, they invest more energy into their careers or numb themselves with mindless scrolling, excessive drinking, and extramarital affairs to enhance feelings of pleasure and excitement in their lives.
Yet, it is possible to break unhealthy patterns and re-establish intimacy in your relationship, returning to that sense of togetherness that’s been missing. Your relationship doesn’t have to continue to be boring. Collaborating in therapy, I can help you improve communication, tap into your strengths as a couple, and work better as a team.
Psych Fitness LLC Specializes In Online Couples Therapy For Clients In Connecticut, New York, And Florida
As a therapist who has been working with couples throughout the competitive Northeast and South Florida, my number one insight for couples considering therapy is that it’s never too early to start! The more ingrained unhealthy conflict becomes, the harder it can be to break the cycle. Many clients believe that you have to be “hanging by a thread” or thinking about divorce before starting couples counseling, but the journey to a positive path forward will be shorter if issues are addressed well before they snowball out of control.
I welcome couples of all backgrounds to counseling–including those who identify as LGBTQIA+—whether you’re newly committed, considering marriage, or have been in a relationship for years. I work primarily with professionals, and I provide my therapy services online to help ease the time commitment and commute for busy couples.
What To Expect
Before getting started with couples therapy, I will schedule an initial consultation with you to discuss goals and make sure we’re a good match. If we decide to move forward, you will be given questionnaires that will help us better understand your relationship history, strengths, and goals before scheduling one-on-one meetings for each partner. After those individual appointments, all sessions will be conducted with both you and your partner present so we can begin working on effective solutions together.
I tailor the counseling process to meet the needs of each couple, but the main goal of our early sessions will be to identify both strengths and problematic patterns, and practice interacting in a way that feels safe and productive. Reflecting on attachment and relationship wounds, we can begin to learn how the past affects the present. Throughout this time, you’ll be given recommendations on how to foster more positive, collaborative interactions.
As a relationship expert with advanced training in many approaches, I like to tackle problems from multiple angles. Taking an integrative—“top up” and “bottom down”—approach to couples therapy, I will work to address your relationship concerns on every level. Solution-focused behavioral methods like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (or CBT) can help you develop healthier communication and emotional regulation techniques, while Emotionally Focused Therapy (or EFT) can help you better understand why negative patterns exist in the first place. Healing your relationship from every angle will be the key to building trust, intimacy, and connection between you.
No matter what the future holds, couples counseling is an opportunity to make sure you have the tools you need to foster awareness and resolution. By building the path toward a happy, fulfilling life together, you can look ahead with confidence.
